Signum Fidei

Signum Fidei was established in Malta in the late 1970s by the late Br. Louis Camilleri with an initial group of teachers. In the following years five more groups were formed. Members undergo a period of formation lasting at least two years and then they became consecrated members, renewing their consecration every year on Trinity Sunday, together with the Brothers. At present there are about 40 registered members that are still active.

Twelve years ago, the Signum Fidei Association - Malta became registered as a Voluntary Organisation. From 2009, the Association had applied for funding for Lasallian projects, supporting a number of these projects in third world countries. Locally the association is mostly involved in spirituality. It publishes a monthly booklet with daily information on the Saint of the day, reflections on the daily Gospel, Meditations from the Founder and prayers. This project was started by Bro Louis and has since then continued to be published.

On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the death of St. John Baptist de La Salle, the Association produced a series of radio programmes on the life of the Founder and Lasallian Saints, in order to promote the Founder and the Lasallian Institute.  The greatest challenge of the Signum Fidei, Malta is to engage more members in the group, particularly teachers.
