Macroom students learn about opportunities in the future
Students at De La Salle College Macroom have been very busy in recent weeks as they had the chance to learn about opportunities after leaving school, while also display to their talents to excel at national level.
Insights into Apprenticeships
De La Salle College College Macroom was pleased to host Billy O'Connor, Darren Fuery, and past pupil James Aynsley from Erneside Engineering. They delivered an engaging and informative presentation to our 6th year students, offering valuable insights into the diverse range of apprenticeships available and the roles essential for supporting business operations. We extend our gratitude to the team for sharing their expertise and inspiring our students.
Maths Quiz
Sixteen of our third-year students participated in the National Junior Cert Pi Maths Quiz, hosted at Edmund Rice College in Carrigaline. It was a fantastic experience for our students, who demonstrated impressive skills and resilience against strong competition. Notably, one of our teams achieved an impressive 5th place out of 50 teams, showcasing their mathematical prowess and teamwork. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to future competitions!
Competing on a national stage
Competing on a national stage is always a proud moment, and these lads can be very proud of their efforts. De La Salle, as always, is so well represented by these young men. Finn Yore, Darragh Manning and Liam Neville all competing in the Intermediate Boys race.
Thanks to West Muskerry AC who are a super club going from strength to strength each year as numbers grow. Seeing so many athletes from West Muskerry AC competing at schools level is just highlighting the great work being done in the area.

Visit to Apple
Our fourth-year students had a fantastic experience visiting Apple today, gaining valuable insight into how a global company operates and organises itself. Seeing the scale and innovation first hand was very educational for them. Our thanks to Mr. Ryan and Mr. Fleming for taking the boys.
