Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day in Stella Maris

World Down Syndrome Day on Friday March 21st saw all at Stella Maris College Junior School celebrate the joy and strength of individuals with Down Syndrome. Let’s keep working for a world where everyone is valued and celebrated.

 Welcoming Her Excellency, Dr. Marie Louise C. P., President in Emiritys

We were honoured to welcome Her Excellency, Dr. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President Emeritus of the Republic of Malta to Stella Maris College. On behalf of The Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society, she delivered a speech on child online protection and safe internet practices.  It is our responsibility to raise students capable of respecting each everyone when using online applications.

 Zgamardi Gardens Excursion

Grade 3 - 6 students had an amazing time at Zgamardi Gardens in Siġġiewi. They got hands-on experience interacting with farm animals, feeding them, and learning about sustainable farming practices like circular farming. Sponsored by ARPA Roadshow Scheme.  Providing Quality Education to our young generation.

Grade 4 Benjamin Assembly

Grade 4 Benjamin presented an assembly for all the Junior School students titled: Our thoughts about the Journey called Lent.  They helped us reflect how we can be better persons and reflect on our actions and pray during this period called Lent.

Taking Care of the School Environment

The Eastern Regional Council in collaboration with Piscopo Gardens, delivered a very informative session with our Grade 3 students. The students were all eyes and ears to learn more about seeds and bulbs, how seeds travel, good bugs and bad bugs, the importance of biodiversity and the need for pollinators.

They learnt about plants that can be added to our food such as basil, oregano and lavender. In groups, they played a quiz and learnt more about Malta’s National flower and plant. Following the presentation session, a hands on planting session was held with the students where they planted seeds and different kids of herbs.

Carnival Activities

On Friday, 28 February, carnival activities were organised by each class teacher. The students enjoyed the tasks and were very engaged and participated actively.  An Assembly was delivery by Grade 4 Arnold students. The Beat Boys Club presented the school community with a carnival dance.

School Football Team

Our Junior School team managed to secure a place in the semi-finals by placing top of the table against San Anton School and St. Catherine's School. They participated in the Interschools Football Tournament, competing against a number of teams from Malta’s primary schools.
