Caring for the environment at DLS Waterford
Students at De La Salle College Waterford learned about caring for our environment by taking part in a project will enhance the community.
In November, students collected fallen leaves for a workshop led by Catherine and Co from Pocket Forests. During this event, teachers from De La Salle College and nearby schools learned how to prepare soil for planting a mini Pocket Forest.
After Christmas, TY students participated in the second workshop, where they planted native trees. Their hard work and dedication were evident in the remarkable progress achieved in just one morning.
Once established, this Pocket Forest will serve as a valuable recreational, educational, and biodiversity hub for the community to enjoy.
