Macroom students reach the stars at Young Scientist Exhibition

Massive congratulations to Simon and Finn, from De La Salle College Macroom, for receiving a Highly Commended Award for their BT Young Scientist project!

Their project, titled “What Makes a Rocket Fly Straight? An Investigation into the Effect of Stabilisation on the Flight Path of a Model Rocket,” explored a fascinating topic.

This award signifies that the lads were strongly considered for a main award in their category. They have been encouraged to build on their project and consider entering again next year.

What a fantastic way to end a great week at the RDS and all at De La Salle College Macroom are so proud of the students.

 DLS Music Group

There were well-earned treats for the DLS Music Group in recognition for all the dedication and effort they have put in these past months! Well done to everyone!

If any other students who can play a musical instrument would like to join please come along to room 18 every Tuesday at lunchtime.

Visit to Blackrock Castle Observatory

Students from the DLS Hub enjoyed a trip to Blackrock Castle Observatory recently. They received a guided tour to explore the exhibits as well as a trip up to the tower and down to the dungeon. Students got the opportunity to experience a star show and learn all about space. It was a very enjoyable day for all.
