St Margaret Ward energised by Flame 2025

On Saturday 15th March, a group of staff and students set off from St Margaret Ward very early to head down to Wembley Arena for Flame 2025, the country’s largest Catholic Youth event. Alongside 10,800 other young people we heard from speakers such as Bear Grylls, Guvna B, Isaac Harvey MBE and even a De La Salle Brother, Br Chris Patino!

The day was full of music, dance and fun. Students enjoyed the opportunity to explore faith and Church in a way like no other. The day was finished with a service of Adoration, led by Cardinal Vincent Nichols and a few moments of silence and stillness with Jesus.

As always, our students represented the school amazingly well, were engaged and enjoyed the day. Have a look at some of the pictures to see what they got up to!

North Staffs Deanery Vocations Mass 2025

A group of staff and students from St Margaret Ward participated in a special Deanery Mass for Vocations on Wednesday 19th March. Many schools from across the North Staffs Deanery, as well as members of the Deanery Vocations Promotions group, and local parishioners gathered to promote, pray for and encourage vocations to the Priesthood, Diaconate and Religious life.

The main celebrant was Fr John Waters, who spoke of his own vocation story, and also of the important role and vocation of St Joseph, whose feast day it was. St Joseph is a great example of faith in God to each of us. As the step-father of Jesus, he was thrust into a situation he definitely wouldn’t have planned for, but accepted his role as a gift from God. He is a great reminder to us that no matter what happens in our lives, God’s grace guides us whenever we turn to him.
